【Schedule Update!】

Most of the JET info sessions canceled by Irma have been rescheduled for next week!

Join us at USF, UCF, FSU, UF, and other schools next week! Check this link for times and location.

JETAA FL is completely run by Volunteers — but you don’t need to be an officer to hold an event or volunteer in your community!

Check out this form for options on how to volunteer – let us know your interests, and we’ll contact you when we have opportunities. The best part? No pressure or commitment!

Below is a message from the JET Coordinator at the Miami Consulate:

Dear Friends,

We hope that you and your loved ones stayed safe during Hurricane Irma. As you know, many institutions had to close for safety purposes, ourselves included. Due to this disruption, we have had to cancel the 2018 JET Info Sessions from 9/11-9/15. We will be revising our schedule this week, and releasing the new dates as soon as possible. In the meantime, we encourage you to read through the new 2018 JET Program Guidelines at www.jetprogramusa.org.

The 2018 JET Program Application Guidelines are now available!

We haven’t had a major hurricane in about 12 years, but that is no reason to let our guards down. Hurricane Irma has achieved Category 5 status with winds at 175 mph. While it’s still uncertain whether we will be hit, it’s important to start making preparations NOW.

Make sure to buy plenty of drinking water, canned/non-perishable foods, and fill your car’s gas tank. If your house needs shutters, make sure you have them ready to go up later this week. Also, make sure you have a safety plan in case your windows break (get in a room with no windows and put a mattress over you to protect you from debris).
Stay safe, everyone!
