Review: They have a nice assortment of Japanese kitchen basics on the shelves and in the fridges. The sushi counter is packed everyday at lunch and a steady stream of to-go orders, which is funny because there is a Japanese restaurant 3 stores down, so you know this place is doing something right. I sampled the combo plate to test the chef (and watched him make it) – the sashimi was well cut; nice assortment of fresh and frozen, and the sushi was well done also. Hamachi was great and salmon was melt in your mouth. I didn’t try the rolls – not my thing. Miso soup was as authentic as it gets! I had a nice chat with the couple that ran the place. They were very polite and friendly.
